While driving around in South Africa can be the ultimate fun and scenic activity, one cannot afford not to the turn off every once in a while and discover what is on offer in the region. Meet new people, learn something new about conservation, or just have some good old relaxed time with the family.
The annual Save Our Seabirds (SOS) Festival aims to educate people about the threats seabirds face. Birdlife South Africa needs all the help they can get and this initiative will help people to acknowledge this and help make a difference. The SOS festival boasts a jam packed programme with plenty of fun activities and opportunities to get involved in saving these animals.
The event takes place from the 10th to the 20th October at various locations in Cape Town. Above: Many South African seabirds have to face threats every day. Learn how you can make a difference at the annual Save Our Seabirds (SOS) Festival. Photo: Pim van den Heuvel
