Scooter Rental

Renting a scooter in Cape Town is a great way to get around the city quickly and easily. In peak tourist season roads can get very congested, making scooter rental a convenient alternative to car rental in Cape Town.

Most scooter rental companies are located in Cape Town city centre, Green Point or on Sea Point main road. To rent a scooter you require a valid drivers’ license in English. You will not be allowed to drive with 2 people on a scooter unless you have a valid motorcycle license.

The following great Cape Town attractions and beaches are all within easy scooting distance (5-15 minutes):

  • Table Mountain
  • V&A Waterfront
  • Camps Bay
  • Clifton
  • The Atlantic Seaboard

Further afield you can explore the following Cape Town attractions and Cape Peninsula beaches (15-45 minutes):

  • Kirstenbosch
  • Llandudno
  • Hout Bay
  • Constantia Winelands
  • Kalk Bay
  • Muizenberg
  • Cape Point

We do advise anyone that decides to rent a scooter in Cape Town, to take great precautions of the following:

  • Strong winds – especially in summer
  • Dangerous drivers – Cape Town roads are notoriously busy during the peak summer season and we advise everyone to take great care when driving around the city and coastal roads
  • Cape Town is hilly – be prepared if you are 2 people on a motorbike.

Currently Drive South Africa does not offer direct scooter rental in Cape Town, we recommend you consult the following websites for rental prices, scooter hire details and scooter bookings:
