Not your Average Interview with Mpumelelo Dlabongwana

Each month we give away MapStudio prizes to our Facebook community members and then get to know them a little better with a fun interview. Meet Mpumelelo Dlabongwana, one of our July winners. Mpumelelo walked away with a large Africa wall map and 300 piece Africa puzzle this month.

If you want to go on your own adventure through Africa, you might want to have a look at 4×4 hire to find the best vehicle for your adventure.

Drive South Africa: Tell us a joke, any joke.

Mpumelelo: Saki and Sam were trying to open there car after they locked the keys inside on the driver’s seat. Saki shouted that “Sam, you’re an absolute idiot for locking the keys inside the car! How on earth are we going to close the roof of this convertible now?“.

Mpumelelo: The Toyota Avanza.

Drive South Africa: When you’re on holiday, what is the one thing you wouldn’t want to leave at home?

Mpumelelo: My iPod!

Drive South Africa: What’s your favourite road trip song?

Mpumelelo: I’d have to say Thandolwethu by Berita.

Drive South Africa: What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

Mpumelelo: Hermanus in the Western Cape.

Drive South Africa: GPS or map?

Mpumelelo: I’d have to say GPS.

Mpumelelo: I’d stop and move it out of the road.

Drive South Africa: How long does it take you to pitch a tent?

Mpumelelo: It would take ages – I always have to refer to the manual.

Drive South Africa: If you had to pick one famous person to take on a road trip with you, who would you pick and why?
