2011 J&B Met

Cape Town’s most popular horse racing meet is the annual J&B Met. It will be taking place at the Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday the 29th of January.

The J&B Met began in 1883 when it was still known as the Metropolitan Mile. The race became more popular when J&B Met stepped in to sponsor the Met in 1978 and made it the grand event it is today.

More than 50 000 people come to revel in the thrill of galloping hooves, the mighty thoroughbreds, the sports betting and of course the eccentric and grand outfits on display.

If you would like the freedom to do what you want, when you want to, you might want to consider car hire Cape Town for your transportation needs.
