The Johannesburg International Motor Show (also known as the Joburg Motor Show) is set to attract millions of car enthusiasts all over the country. The exhibition runs in conjunction with two additional shows ‘Auto Shop’ and the ‘Johannesburg Truck Show’ which offer a complete representation of the motor industry in Africa. This event takes place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, Johannesburg, and is a comprehensive automotive lifestyle show case.
Nissan’s green leaf a big attraction
Nissan’s Leaf is visiting South Africa during the Jo’burg Motor Show and, who knows, this wagon made of electricity, might be in South Africa for good.
Nissan’s power model, the Nissan Leaf, will attract a lot of attention at this year’s Johannesburg Motor Show. The Leaf, the first in a series of all electricity vehicles, is already released in Europe, Japan and North America and has since then received two renowned awards; the 2011 World Car of the Year and the European Car of the Year.
A selection of Nissan’s most exciting cars, including the GT-R and the 370Z will be showcased as well as the Nissan’s new series of passanger vehicles, such as the Nissan Micra and the long awaited Nissan Juke, which will be released in South Africa at the end of the year.
According to Beeld, 257 000 people are expected to visit the exhibition – most will be visiting from Africa, Europe and the Far East.

What you should now
The show is open to the public on Saturday 8th to Sunday 16th October 2011, between 09h00 and 18h00. It is held at the Expo Centre at Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Entrance costs R80 for Adults and R20 for Children aged 6 – 12 years.
Tickets will be available from the gate (Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec) or at Computicket.
