Top 5 Botswana 4x4 Safari Experiences
Known as Africa's top wildlife destination, Botswana's safari's, tours and game reserves are a treat...
It’s nearly time for the 24th annual Cape Town International Kite Festival. The event will take place on the 27-28 October 2018, at the Zandvlei Nature Reserve in Muizenberg. The fest draws local and international kiting enthusiasts each and every year, for an impressive display of their handmade kites.
The fest, which was founded in 1993 in support of South Africa’s oldest mental health charity, attracts over 21 000 visitors each and every year. The kite-makers and kite- flyers gather on the coast of Muizenberg, in Cape Town and showcase their artwork for a worthy cause. Visitors and participators use the event to celebrate community and creativity.
This year, the theme of the kite fest is ‘Rise up and fly’. There will be a range of activities for the whole family to participate in. Visitors are most welcome to bring their own kites or buying one on the day. There will be live entertainment, competitions, food markets, picnic areas and arts and crafts.
Most visitors prefer booking a vehicle to accommodate their travel to the festival. Car rental is a great option if you want to see the outskirts of Cape Town as well as the CBD, as most attractions are slightly outside of the city centre.
