Day 3-6 | After leaving Matobo National Park we drove to Bulawayo a short distance away, to stock up on fuel and supplies. We then made our way to our next destination which was Hwange National Park. | 317 | Hwange National Park |
Day 7 | The next part of our trip took us to Kariba dam, where we caught a ferry from Mlibizi, a village on the dam's southern shore. We spent the night on the ferry, crossed the dam from south to north, and got off in the town of Kariba. | 129 | Kariba Dam Overnight Ferry |
Day 8 | We refueled in northern Kariba. After stocking up on supplies, we continued to Mana Pools National Park in northern Zimbabwe. Nyamepi Camp on the Zambezi was our next stop. | 570 | Nyamepi Camp |
Day 9 | The following day, we traveled to the outskirts of Harare where we spent the night at a charming but eccentric guest home. It was luxurious after spending the last few nights in the wild. They even catered our dinner and breakfast meals and the food was delicious! | 670 | Troutbeck Resort |
Day 10-11 | Our next camping spot was Nyanga, where we stayed in chalets with amazing log fires next to the Rhodes dam. | 20.8 | Nyanga Eastern Highlands |
Day 12 | Our final overnight stop on the tour was in the ruins of a medieval city in Zimbabwe's southern hills, close to Masvingo. We first drove over the dam wall bridge at Lake Mutirikwi. We then proceeded to the Beit Bridge border post and went back home after spending a chilly night close to the ruins. | 374 | Masvingo |
